Authors

Alexander Menard, DNP, AGACNP-BC, is an assistant professor at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing, where he coordinates the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) program. Dr. Menard has worked in critical care as a nurse and nurse practitioner for over 10 years.   

He is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurse (AACN) where he volunteers his time to develop new offerings for critical care nurses and nurse practitioners as well as a member of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF).  

Sarah Berry, RN, BSN, CEN, PHRN, TNCC, is a Registered Nurse at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. She has been in the Emergency Department for seven years, working in various roles until January of 2020, when she became an RN at a rural level one trauma center. She watched the fields of bedside nursing and emergency medicine change and evolve in the face of a historic pandemic.   

She received Caregiver of the Year for 2023 in the ER. She is a member of the Emergency Nursing Association (ENA), the Society of Trauma Nursing (STN), and is currently working as a Flight Nurse for the prestigious Geisinger Life Flight program.
