The journal is of interest to midwives, maternity care and neonatal nurses, maternity service users, obstetricians, neonatologists, pediatricians, physiologists, health sociologists, physiotherapists, health economists, biologists, and psychologists with an interest in maternal and infant research, maternity service policy makers and managers, doulas, traditional birth attendants, childbirth educators, and students of maternity care.

The International Journal of Childbirth (IJCB), a quarterly publication of Springer Publishing Company. The IJCB is listed in the Web of Science Emerging Sources Citation Index. The mission of IJCB is to disseminate original research, theoretical insights, case studies, and authoritative opinions that enhance our reader’s evidence-based safe practice in prenatal, antepartal, intrapartal, and postpartal care.

Manuscripts are peer-reviewed by a distinguished editorial board. The IJCB encourages the following professions to submit manuscripts: nurses, midwives, obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine physicians, physiologists, anthropologists, sociologists, psychologists, physiotherapists, economists, biologists, pediatricians, neonatologists, maternity service policy makers, health care leaders, health care safety experts, doulas, traditional birth attendants, childbirth educators, and students of maternity care to submit manuscripts that may have an impact on maternal and/or fetal health.
