About The Author(s) 

David R. Strauser, PhD, is Associate Professor, Department of Kinesiology and Community Health, and Department of Special Education, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also is on the Graduate Faculty, Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Research at the University of Memphis. Professor Strauser's teaching and research interests include the assessment of individuals with disabilities and psychological factors that impact the career development and vocational behavior of such individuals. He is also interested in the impact of trauma symptoms on career development and the impact of the working alliance on rehabilitation outcomes, psychological wellbeing and career development. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles ad is currently Editor-in-Chief of Rehabilitation Research, Policy and Education and editorial Board member of the Journal of Violence and Trauma Research, Dr. Strauser is the recipient of the United States Department of Education-Rehabilitation Services Administration Commissioners Award (2005), Deans Excellence Award- Excellence in Research and Scholarship (2004), and the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association Research Award (Second Place, 2004).
