About the Editor:
Kelly A. Goudreau DSN, RN, ACNS-BC is the Director of Education/Designated Learning Officer at the Portland VA Medical Center. In her role as the Director of Education/Designated Learning Officer, Dr. Goudreau oversees staff development at all levels in the organization, patient education and academic affiliations that bring multidisciplinary students into the VA health care environment. She is involved in nursing initiatives at the local, state and national level, is a Past President of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists and an Associate Editor of Clinical Nurse Specialist: The Journal for Advanced Nursing Practice.
