Description

The Cultural Competence Education Resource Toolkit is designed to improve the ability of nurses and other health care providers to work effectively with a diverse population of patients and co-workers in a variety of settings. High-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care within a rapidly changing multicultural world and workplace requires optimal cultural competence. The toolkit, in conjunction with Teaching Cultural Competence in Nursing and Health Care: Inquire, Action, and Innovation, provides indispensable tools and resources to achieve this goal.

Developed by Dr. Marianne R. Jeffreys, and based on her ground-breaking research, the toolkit provides a systematic way to assess cultural competence, and a means to improve it. This valuable resource can be used to assess the cultural competence in individuals or groups.

The Cultural Competence Education Resource Toolkit, Third Edition, provides a comprehensive set of hands-on, user-friendly resources for planning, implementing, and evaluating cultural competence education strategies and programs. The tools are designed to facilitate the development of optimal cultural competence for health care providers in all echelons and settings, and can be easily applied to all educations levels.

The toolkit consists of 23 distinct tools: 12 questionnaires and research resources, one model, one illustrated cultural competence pathway, and nine educational assessment and planning tools. Designed to foster optimal cultural competence, the tools will be of value to a broad range of health professionals at all levels, including researchers, educators, nurses, and other health professionals, administrators, association leaders, students, and others.

A one-year, renewable license is available, enabling the user to administrate the questionnaire and assessments to as many as 500 people. Purchasers will be asked to sign a licensing agreement.
