Job Opening: Marketing Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE

Seeking a motivated marketing professional to support our Nursing, Behavioral Science, and Medical portfolios, driving revenue for award winning publications in the professional and educational markets. The Marketing Coordinator position offers a unique opportunity for an eager, out-of-the-box thinker with a passion for both creative and analytical assignments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implements multi-channel campaigns via email, social media, advertising, conferences, press relations, direct mail, and other available outlets, offering new and fresh ideas for outreach
  • Writes creative copy that sells and converts
  • Tests, measures, and reports on individual campaign performance as well as ongoing performance for constant improvement and achievement of individual, team, and company goals
  • Assists with the development, design, and production of digital and print promotional materials for marketing, author relations and sales support
  • Identifies new communications channels and acquiring new contacts in key markets to improve reach in assigned segments
  • Regularly engages and nurtures prospects and customers across channels with relevant content in various formats (blog and social media posts, images and infographics, audio/video, etc.)
  • Executes market research through online research, surveys, focus groups, and workshops
  • Makes occasional team and interdepartmental presentations of marketing activities and results
  • Works closely under the direction of the Director of Product Marketing, and in collaboration with the rest of the Marketing team (Digital Marketing, Conferences), Editorial, and Sales, as well as outside partners such as authors and freelancers.
  • Coordinates efforts to obtain book reviews and word-of-mouth marketing

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of marketing experience, preferably in the medical or publishing field
  • Willingness to travel for conferences and customer engagements, about 10%
  • Experience in email marketing deployment, reporting, and testing, as well as social media marketing.
  • Marketo or other marketing automation, as well as CRM/Salesforce experience a plus.
  • Basic graphic design knowledge (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Demonstrates the ability to work with enthusiasm on both independent and collaborative projects with minimal supervision
  • Maintains a strong work ethic and a driving desire for success
  • Possesses excellent organizational, prioritization, multitasking, and time management skills
  • Enjoys working in a fast-growth and highly entrepreneurial environment
  • Has excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Displays an instinct for driving web traffic and a high level of comfort with technology
  • Thrives in a small office environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position may require some travel of about 10%; able to drive and fly to destinations as required.
