Job Opening: Amazon/eCommerce Marketplace Account Manager

Overview:

Springer Publishing Company is looking for a talented and experienced eCommerce Marketplace Account Manager. This position, reporting to the VP of Marketing, is responsible for managing the Company’s e-commerce business partners (i.e. Amazon, Walmart, Vitalsource, eBay, etc.). Working across the organization to ensure customer satisfaction and operational performance excellence, this hands-on position will help devise and implement the marketing, sales, operational strategy and tactics used to significantly increase partner online revenue and performance. This is an analytical and highly entrepreneurial role.

To be considered for this position, candidates must have significant experience with Amazon Retail/Vendor Central and/or FBA. An ideal candidate would also have prior book publishing experience. This position requires the individual to maintain positive and cooperative working relations with a broad audience of customers and vendors as well as internal cross-departmental staff. The ideal candidate will drive improvements, ensuring efficiencies up and down the manufacturing workflow.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies and tactics for e-commerce partners including Amazon, Target, B&N, Walmart, Jet.com, etc. as well as publisher-specific partners to drive operational performance, customer satisfaction and ensure positive brand experience.
  • Serve as the account lead, manage the day-to-day performance of external ecommerce partners (e.g., via Amazon Vendor Central) to drive revenue and maintain stellar customer relationships.
  • Monitor and evaluate key product pricing across the new, used and rental marketplaces.
  • Manage all marketing activities on Amazon (AMS) and report on performance.
  • Develop and maintain A+ content for key books.
  • Ensure operational excellence across the workflow from product descriptions to delivery and inventory management.
  • Develop daily/weekly/monthly dashboard of key performance indicators for each key partner.
  • Develop and implement strategy for responding to customer reviews.
  • Evaluate, prioritize, develop, implement and manage strategic and tactical initiatives aligned with key performance objectives.
  • Closely monitor and implement strategies to ensure customers receive top-quality, authentic products from 3P sellers.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and develop new online retail accounts as opportunities are created.

Qualifications and Competency Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science or Equivalent.
  • Experience w/ Amazon Vendor Central, Google Analytics & performance marketing
  • Minimum of three years of experience in managing ecommerce marketplace partners, with a proven track record of growing revenue.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Amazon platforms and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and e-business acumen.
  • Digital sales and marketing expert.
  • Experience managing & optimizing product feeds for online distribution (e.g., ONIX).
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Personal qualities: self-motivated, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task.
  • Strong Project Management skills with experience in planning and execution required.
  • Demonstrates ability to work under pressure, managing several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Strong Analytical skills - Ability to work with numbers: generate reports and statistical data, ability to interpret that data and in turn identify problems, opportunities, trends and develop solutions required.

Physical requirements:

Business travel is not expected but may on occasion be required.
